Cristiano Ronaldo Returns To Train Alongside Juventus Team-mates

The Portuguese superstar opted to spend the lockdown due to the [/news/coronavirus/index.html coronavirus] pandemic at his home in Madeira. 
He went there with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and his four children in an effort to avoid contracting the virus, having seen three of his team-mates in Daniele Rugani, Paulo Dybala and Blaise Matuidi among the first [/sport/serie-a/index.html Serie A] players to test positive for Covid-19.

Ronaldo did not take his time off for granted, though, and Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri will be optimistic that his star man will look sharp for his first training session at their facility in more than two months. 
Along with his family, Ronaldo returned to Turin at the start of May and was required to spend 14 days at home in self-isolation as per government rules for international arrivals. 
While Ronaldo was working on his footwork in the garden with Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, team-mates such as Aaron Ramsey, Juan Cuadrado and Giorgio Chiellini were back on the training ground. 
Sarri will be able to have players train in small groups from Tuesday as the group get to work

Ronaldo has also been keeping fans up to date with his fitness routine at home having been undertaking hill runs with his girlfriend while out in Madeira. 
In another clip, he was working on his core while playing with his children during lockdown. 
It was announced last week that clubs in Italy are allowed to return to team training on May 18 - but matches remain some way off following a government decree banning sporting events until June 15.

There are hopes that a return to small group training can pave the way to see Serie A return, with Juventus locked in a fierce battle to retain their title against Lazio, who are one point behind in second.   
The Italian government laid out a protocol that an entire squad must go into a 15-day quarantine if one player tests positive for coronavirus, however clubs and the Players' Association rejected these rules.  
Juventus' title is far from secure and there is a desire to complete the season, despite Italy being the third worst affected country with Covid-19, with more than 32,000 deaths at the time of writing.  
The Bundesliga in Germany is the only major league in Europe back up and running again.
